The freedom that our brand new pilot kit is absolutely second to none, and allows us to work on ultra-small batch beers that we can action into our plans at short notice, or with seasonality in mind.
Our first ever brew on our Pilot kit brings that sensibility into practice; with the brewery being set up for its first spin in late September, we earmarked Halloween to take centre stage on our first beer produced and an opportunity for our brewers to utilise ingredients that they may not ordinarily get to work with on the main brewkit.
Jack O’Lantern gives itself away in its name – a pumpkin-spiced dark ale that is a perfect accompaniment to the nights rolling in and the chill in the air. Loaded to the nines with fresh pumpkin, and a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove to give a very slight spicy edge, this is a beer perfect for wrapping a pair of gloved hands around as your breath hangs on the air.
